Working with the Financial Services Team, he focused on federal and state tax compliance for various domestic and international financial entities, including hedge funds and private equity funds. During this time, he developed an extensive knowledge related to the taxation of partnerships, S-corporations and various “flow-through” organizational structures. Miles originally apprenticed under firm partner and co-founder Jason Luse while working with his clients. He became a Senior Planner in 2015 and started building out his own book of clients. In 2020 Miles promoted into the Executive Planner role for the firm and since then has been promoted to partner. Miles has been with MLW for ten years and is the first non-founder partner for MLW.

Family Life:
Miles and his wife, Valerie, have two daughters, Eloise and Margot. Their dog, a rough-coat Dutch shepherd named Dafne, is also along for the journey.
Outside the Office, You’ll Find Him:
Miles’s passions include reading, traveling, live music, endurance athletics and bringing his community together. He and his wife host an annual music event in their backyard to raise money for charity and they are also volunteer worship leaders at their church.
Something Most People Don’t Know:
For Miles, coffee is more than a morning ritual — it’s an art form. Ask him about his collection of brewing devices from around the world or his trip to a Costa Rican coffee plantation.
Words of Wisdom:
Define your measure of success. A life well-lived is vibrant and filled with diversity of experiences and people you care about. Achieving short-term goals always feels good because they are so close at hand and give immediate payoff. But, don’t be so myopic as to miss out on the greater narrative arch of your life.
